St Johns Church, Mount Druitt (Minchinbury)
The church, at 115 Mount Druitt Road, is celebrating the Centenary of the Laying of the Original Foundation Stone of St Johns Church of England on the 16th September 2016. The church Foundation Stone was consecrated on the 16th September 1916 by the Reverend T. S. Heffernan R.D. Mr George Innes donated the land where the church is situated, on the westside of Mount Druitt Road and James Innes Snr carted the bricks by horse and dray for the building. The first marriage took place in 1922 between Christine Innis and Bruce Noble and the first baptism was that of John Mumford.
The church building was purchased by the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia when the Anglican congregation moved to their new building in Rupertswood Road, Minchinbury in 1986.
St Johns Church Committee is asking if anyone has items of interest and/or recollections of their fellowship in the original St Johns please contact either the Historical Society, Alex Neil on (02) 4731 6941 or Reverend Dennis Muldoon on (02) 9724 0877.
Members of our Society are interested in hearing from anyone who knows of any convicts who lived in Blacktown or were assigned to a Rooty Hill Government Establishment.
Our latest project is to compile a history on these convicts which will be published at a later date. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated. All information received will be credited to the originator, subject to their concurrence.

Convicts of Blacktown
Desendants of James Paull
We are interested in contacting a descendant of James Paull, son of Charles Paull, whose family lived and built "Neoblie" on the Great Western Highway, Mount Druitt. A document gives his occupation as a "Building Contractor" which now questions who built the house, James or his father Charles. James' place of business on this document was at Eastern Creek and at the time he was working on a section of the playground at Colyton Public School. It is important to confirm these facts so we can provide accurate information in the future Education Kit. When finished the kit will be sent to the schools and libraries for students and teachers in the Mount Druitt Districts.
